Appearance: Short, Caucasian, with a narrow face, grayish-blue eyes, and curly blond hair. She has a tattoo of 3 ravens on her collarbone that represents her family members, a tattoo of the Dauntless seal on her left shoulder, and a tattoo of the Abnegation seal on her right shoulder.
Backstory:
Beatrice Prior was born to Natalie and Andrew Prior in the faction Abnegation. She had an older brother named Caleb. She lived a normal life in Abnegation until she turned 16 and it was time for her to take the Aptitude test, which decided which faction she would be best suited for.
Events of Divergent:
Beatrice's results were inconclusive on the Aptitude test and her tester, a Dauntless woman named Tori, told her that she was Divergent - she didn't fit into a certain faction perfectly and therefore she was a danger to the system.
On Choosing Day, her brother Caleb chose Erudite and Beatrice chose Dauntless, leaving behind her family and the life she always knew.
When she entered the Dauntless compound for the first time, she chose a new name: Tris. At this same moment, she met Four, an instructor for the new Dauntless initiates.
She goes through several trials and tribulations throughout Divergent, makes new friends, suffers losses, and begins a romance with Four.
In the end, she watches her mother and father die and must kill one of her friends, Will.
Events of Insurgent:
The factions of Dauntless and Abnegation have fallen. Tris goes through trials and tribulations that test her relationship with Four, her friendship with Christina, and most of all, her bravery. At the end, the factions discover that their entire city and the life they know was an experiment conducted by the United States government.
Events of Allegiant:
The final book in the Divergent series drives home the main theme of bravery and selflessness when Tris makes her final sacrifice. She dies in the final novel and the ending of the book is told from Tobias' perspective.
